Founding Farmer |
Woody Wilson is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University’s College of Agriculture. In 2012 he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degrees in Agricultural Sciences and Leadership Development.
As a child Woody gave tours of his parent’s backyard vegetable garden and ate blueberries off the bush. Woody gained his growing experience at Penn State and as Farm Manager at Tait Farm Foods, an organic CSA in State College, PA. At Tait Farm, Woody grew for 100 people through the summer and 40 through the winter season. Woody is bringing productive commercial agricultural techniques to the home; enabling efficient home vegetable production. His goal is to make home food production a commonplace activity. |
Our History |
Wilson's Home Farms was created during the Fall 2011 Ag Business Springboard Competition sponsored by Penn State's College of Agriculture and Earl & Kay Harbaugh. The Springboard Competition is a business plan competition where students work together on an entrepreneurial business in the agriculture industry.
In March of 2012 Wilson's Home Farms went from being an idea to a business with the installing its first gardens. |
