Why Build or Renovate in the Fall?
For us at Wilson Home Farms, Spring means everything is happening at the same time: gardens are being installed, fruit trees are being planted, gardens are being prepared for planting, gardens are being planted, fruit trees are being pruned. Often our schedule is nearly at Spring capacity before new project inquires begin to come in.
Our Garden Management service follows a strict schedule that starts in mid-April to provide produce as soon as possible to our clients. For example: peas have to be planted at the beginning of April so that they are ready for harvest at the beginning of June before it is too hot for them to survive. In the Spring planting season Garden Management takes precedence.
We try to fit in as many installations as possible in the Spring, but they often are on hold until the major plantings of mid-April, mid-May and early June are in the ground. On the other side of April, the ground is often frozen until sometime in March and we can't get to work until the thaw.

We listen to what you would like to have grown, we create a field plan for the season, and then we maintain the garden for the entire season, providing you with a continuous stream of seasonal produce.
Instead of handing you a finished garden and wishing you luck, we continue to work with you after the installation so that you can get the most out of your garden. We design gardens with their long-term use in mind: bed size, orientation, paths, irrigation and fencing are all installed with usability in mind. |
