Home composting keeps your food waste out of the landfill and provides you with a soil amendment that you know the source.
Wilson Home Farms installs three systems: a 1-Bin, a 2-Bin, and a 3-Bin. A 3-Bin compost system is the standard for effective compost production. One bin is used as an active pile, one bin is used for the first compost turn, and the third bin is used for finishing the compost. The three bin however can be overwhelming for a new gardener, so I designed the 1-Bin and 2-Bin to match the needs of all. |

Home Composting is the way to lower the amount of waste you send to the landfill and create a healthy soil amendment at the same time. Home composting takes work however, and Wilson Home Farms offers services to make this easy and attainable to you.
When you've filled your 1- Cubic Yard bin full of your kitchen scraps, grass clippings and last fall's leaves, you need to flip the bin to keep re-invigorate your compost pile on its path to a nutritious soil amendment. In the fall THE MOST VALUABLE input to your successful compost system falls from the sky. Many of us blow these precious leaves to the curb where your municipality sucks them up then composts them to sell back to you. Wilson Home Farms offers "Fall Clean-up for Composting" which directs those leaves to your Leaf Collection Pile where they will be available to your for the next year of composting. |
